What Are Affiliate Links?

An affiliate link is a specially tracked URL. When you click one and complete a purchase, the vendor's system records that the referral came from Stackflow and pays us a commission — typically a percentage of the sale or a flat fee. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone directly to the vendor's website.

How We Use Commissions

Commissions fund the research, writing, and technical work required to maintain this platform. Without affiliate income, we could not offer free, ad-light access to detailed software comparisons.

What Affiliate Relationships Do NOT Affect

• Quality Scores — Calculated automatically from objective data (content completeness, user reviews, integrations, features). Vendors cannot pay to improve their score.
• Rankings — Best-of lists are sorted by Quality Score and review average. Commercial relationships have zero weight in rankings.
• Editorial content — Pros, cons, and review summaries are based on user reviews and verified data, not vendor input.

How to Identify Affiliate Links

Additionally, the "Visit Website" and "Get Started" buttons on software profile pages are affiliate links when an active program exists for that tool. The commission rate is disclosed in the software's Affiliate Program section.

This disclosure complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255) and the EU's requirements for commercial communications. We believe transparency is the foundation of useful recommendations.
